5 PAISE COMMEMORATIVE COINS OF INDIA
There are four 5 Paise coins issued as circulating commemorative coins. They were issued as a part of Development oriented themes. The different themes of 5 Paise were Food and work for all (1976), Save for development (1977), Food and shelter for all (1978), International year of child (1979). foreground of the coin. A power transmission tower with an office on its left
side and an industry on its right side is shown at the centre of the upper
back ground of the coin. Two ears of corn on both sides of the tractor. Year
of issue "1976" just below the tractor and mint mark lies below the
year. The legend "FOOD & WORK FOR ALL" is inscribed in english
on the right half of the periphery. “Sabke liye anaz aur kam" is inscribed in
Hindi on the left side of the periphery.

"5" below it. "Bharath" and "Paise" is written
in Hindi on the left side of the coin.
"INDIA" and "PAISE" is written in English on the

savings (a hand depositing a coin into savings box), food (an ear of corn),
shelter (a hut), family planning (a triangle), education (an open book),
employment (a gear wheel with a factory inside), health (a medical cross). Year of issue "1977" just below
the hut and mint mark lies below the year. The legend "SAVE FOR
DEVELOPMENT" is inscribed in english on the bottom half of the
periphery. “Vikas ke liye
bachaiye" is inscribed in Hindi on the upper side of the periphery.

stylish rivulet and an ear of corn), shelter (a stylish cottage). A small
family planning triangle just above the door of the hut representing the
necessity of having small families to ensure the availibity of adequate
amount of food. Year of issue "1978" is placed on the upper left
side of the cottage. The above whole symbols are enclosed with in a circle. .
The legend "FOOD AND SHELTER FOR ALL" is inscribed in english on the
bottom half of the periphery. “Sabke
liye anaj aur or makan" is inscribed in Hindi on the upper side of the
periphery. Mint mark lies at the lower most part just below the word SHELTER

enclosed within an embossed circle which is surrounded by olive wreath. The
year of issue "1979" is placed just below the beginning of olive
wreath. Inside the slate, there is a smiling sun with 17 rays and a boy on
the lower left and a girl on the lower right of the smiling sun. Slate
represents education, sun represents health and strength, and the boy and
girl represents the International year of child. The legend "HAPPY CHILD
- NATION'S PRIDE” is written in English on the bottom half of the periphery
and "Bache ki muskhan" in Hindi is written on the upper half of the
periphery.
